What I've bought, saved, seen this month
The March edit of things I've bought, saved, seen: what’s worth adding to cart & what's not...
Fashion Faves:
I’ve worn, you’ve loved…
Zara Bodysuit, £15.99: a real Skims dupe; uber-flattering and pulls you in in all the right places. I bought it in black and white and can’t stop wearing it. I’m wearing small.
Watch Strap, £19: not new, in-fact it’s years old but for some reason I got so many messages about it this month so popping it here for you again.
Amazon Loungewear, £15: I have to say that this is pretty identical to a lounge-wear set I bought from a very expensive brand. The flared trousers are flattering & the top covers you bum. I’m wearing medium.
ASOS camel cardigan, £24: one of my, and your, favourite purchases this month. I’m wearing small.
Navy Bandeau Co-Ord, £35: what I wore to a night out with Charlotte Tilbury. Chic and stylish yet true to my relaxed style. Would look gorge with a tan and gold jewels on holiday.
Jewel Boutique Sunglasses, £19: at this price, I have a pair in my car, one in my bag and one in my coat pocket.
M&S Palazzo Pants, £46: the answer to it’s too hot for jeans but I’m not ready for a summer dress yet. These trousers are so chic. I kept them in black and beige.
ASOS Tweed Cardigan, £34: Chanel vibes that got everyone talking. Comes with a matching skirt.
Zara Ruffle Blouse, £27.99: The quickest way to look chic - just add jeans, trousers and blazer.
House Updates:
We’ve been looking for an occasional chair for in our bedroom for months, and finally found it. She might end up being a place to throw clothes, but for now she looks super pretty, is a new place to sit and scroll on my phone and finishes the space off perfectly. Next, art for the wall…
The Beauty Edit:
What I’m enjoying using, and I think you will like too…
E45 72hr Lotion, £6.83: I know, moisturising your body sounds like a faff but this changes everything. A silky smooth formula that absorbs in an instant and leaves skin hydrated for 3 days. A must now we’re edging into bare arm and leg season.
Clarins Extra-Firming Energy Day Cream: Like a morning coffee for your skin; it’s brighter, smoother, and gently re-energised skin in a pot. Designed for 35+ skin, it melts in, layering radiance and a soft-focus firmness.
Lancaster Sun Perfect Air Daily Invisible Fluid SPF50 Glow Booster: SPF is, of course, non-negotiable, but it helps when it feels like a pleasure to use. This daily formula disappears on contact with skin, leaving behind a soft, lit-from-within glow rather than the usual tell-tale sheen.
Nivea Sun Scent: On the subject of sun, now is the time to bag this iconic - and inexpensive - scent. It smells exactly like you’ve just come back from a day at the beach. Not heavy, not overly sweet, and it doesn’t try too hard. It just sits close to the skin and makes you smell clean, summery, and familiar.
Virtue 6-in-1 Styler: the ultimate "Swiss Army Knife" for your hair, unlike traditional creams that can feel heavy or "producty," this lightweight multitasker manages to prime, shine, revive waves and protect from heat while remaining virtually undetectable. I use it in the mornings to ‘wake’ my waves back up.
Glow Hub Hand Sanitiser Mist: mark my words, this will be the ultimate ‘it’ accessory of the summer (in fact my kids have already stolen mine) Available in three scents (Hot Sauce, Dopamine and Pipe Dream) on a wearable keychain with customisable sticker packs, it’s genuine fashion statement that just happens to kill 99.9% of germs - for under £8.
L’Oréal Professionnel Tec Ni Art Volume Dust: Got a tween boy forever ‘puffing’ up his hair? This is what he needs for that.
Absolute Collagen Unflavoured Powder: If I had a £ for every time someone asked me what collagen I recommend, I would be lying on a beach right now. This is the one that I use in my morning coffee. You’ll need a juzcher to really blend it in, before adding milk. It doesn’t have a taste, maybe a slight vanilla one but it’s pretty undetectable. So easy, and so effective. Also comes in these sachets for on-the-go.
Places I’ve been, people I’ve seen…
…ate my way through the Carlotta tasting menu at a creators dinner with Amazon.
…re-united with Hollywood’s favourite make-up artist. Gucci Westman for the launch of her Hydrobalm Tinted Lipstick.
…escaped for 24 hours with Charlotte Tilbury at The Grove Hotel for the launch of their afternoon tea.
…celebrated sisterhood with Georgia and Lizzy Jagger at the house of Jo Malone London.
…visited the Marie Antoinette exhibition at the V&A with my mum.
…watching my kids in multiple football tournaments as the season draws to an end.
…spending far too much of my money in Gails.
I’m watching, reading and listening to…
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Unsure if I should admit that I binged my way through season 4. I actually don’t think I like any of them, and there are some seriously big issues underlying the entire premise of the show, but I do have a soft spot for Whitney, Connor and their mega glow-up. On Hulu.
The Magic Faraway Tree: Alfie is currently listening to this on his Yoto and I’m enjoying reliving one of my favourite childhood books at the same time. I can’t wait for the movie to come out later this month. Pure nostalgia.
Call Her Daddy: Whenever I’m stuck for something to listen to on a solo car journey, I flick to this. Alex always has the best roster of millennial minded interviewees for when you don’t want to concentrate too hard. On the above SLOMW subject, the Jessi Draper interview has me mind blown.
The hacks that have saved me…
I’m trying to get a handle on my phone storage situation, so I’ve started deleting photos day by day, working back through each year while I’m sitting in the car waiting for my kids. Try it.
Add to your Ocado…
Honestly, I need to buy shares in Crosta & Mollica. My kids go through about 3 boxes of their breadsticks a week and I am OBSESSED with the chilli crostini. Just add a layer of cream cheese. INCRED.
